Just about a month ago I was out in my garage with all the lights off. This is was about 7 pm. I occasionally hang out in the garage in the dark.
It was completely dark and the all of a sudden the garage door started to shake. I was scared, I thought someone was outside messing with it.
I heard my dad and mom inside and I later found out my dad went to check upstairs to see if the roof had fallen down. And My parents were startled too.
My dad came out in the garage, turned on the light, and found me out there. He was looking for the source of the noise. He told me the whole house shook, and they didn’t know what caused it. We all had theories but we were wrong.
The next day, my dad receives a news story on his phone that was titled something like: “ Wonder why your house was shaking? It was a meteor explosion.”
The article said it was a fireball , probably the size of a car, in the sky that caused a sonic boom, and that it was rare (like one in every 3,000 meteors) for it to make such a loud noise.
Well at least we knew what it was. So I was relieved and kind of scared at the same time that a meteor came so close as to shake the house.
